SERVICES:
Making the decision to see a psychologist or meet a new psychologist may feel daunting. It takes courage to seek support. Initially, Elizabeth will listen and gently explore your presenting concerns before collaborating with you to develop goals and a plan to address these. Elizabeth works individually with clients from the age of 18. She works with clients who seek to gain a deeper understanding of the factors that have led to the development of current emotional issues.
Therapy can help clients to understand the root cause of symptoms such as excessive worry, tension within the body, self-critical thoughts and feeling discontent with life. It can also provide a safe space to build the skills and confidence to assert your own needs in relationships. Elizabeth strives to develop a shared, deep understanding of your unique experience. While short-term therapy approaches are available, Elizabeth primarily uses a Psychodynamic Therapy approach which involves in depth exploration of symptom origin and ways of relating to others. This longer-term approach aims to allow clients a deeper understanding of their inner emotional worlds in order to connect to their authentic selves and develop new ways of connecting to others.
Elizabeth has experience working with a range of presentations including:
Anxiety and depression
Stress and burnout
Grief and loss
Family of origin issues
